Pride Of Place & Heritage Of Craft

Quinlan’s Fish was started in 1963 by our father, Michael Quinlan who used his pioneering skills within the fishing & seafood industry to produce and supply the finest and most sustainable range of fresh Irish smoked salmon and freshly caught fish and seafood to Irish businesses and the general public.

Acting as custodians of the age-old skills of smoking salmon, our roots are firmly established at our Quinlan’s Fish HQ in Renard Point – where local fishermen have been bringing their catches ashore for centuries – on the southern Kerry coast along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.

The strong influence of the coastal landscape and region from which we come can be seen in the traditional and carefully honed recipes that we proudly follow, having been handed down to us from previous generations.

We always insist on only using the freshest ingredients before each piece of skilfully prepared salmon is delicately smoked over oak wood chippings in our renowned smokehouse using our unique “ultra-cold smoke” technique




Commitment To Innovation & To Local

In 1998, we brought our, by now famous, smoked salmon to the global stage by selling online.

We quickly followed that up by opening up “bricks & mortar” fish shops and seafood bars across the regions of Kerry, Cork and Limerick all of which are now thriving parts of Quinlan’s Fish group.



In 2017, we acquired the prestigious Kenmare Select company as we sought to expand on our range of wild, organic and superior smoked salmon.

With a rich history of its own, Kenmare Select was created by the Michelin star chef Rémy Benoit in 1991 in the town of Kenmare, Co. Kerry – it would go on to establish itself with gastronomes around the world.

The Kenmare Select range is now globally famous for its unique texture and taste by adhering to a very specific process of preparation and of smoking salmon. These same philosophies and values merge effortlessly with the ideals of Quinlan’s Fish and our commitment to sustainability and ethical food production has seen us achieve full certification from the likes of Organic Trust Ireland as well as being a member of BIM Seafood Circle.

As with all of our Quinlan’s smoked salmon, only fresh salmon is used (we never use frozen salmon) hence our ability to win acclaim with food industry awards both here in Ireland and internationally.
